Humpty Dumpty polos are compulsory for all children in Pre-Nursery and Nursery. Particularly in the Nursery classes, wearing of the uniform helps in the transition to school, where uniform is almost always mandatory. Polos are available from the nurseries at a cost of AED 75.
All children must have at least one full change of clothes available at all times, as well as nappies and baby wipes (if required).
Sunhats and Sunscreen
All children are required to wear a sunhat (with the child’s name inside) in order to play outside. No hat, no play. Suncream should be applied before the child attends nursery each day.
All children must bring a water bottle with them each day. The bottle must have the child’s name clearly marked.
Health and Medical
Health and Safety is paramount to us. We comply fully with the Ministry of Education regulations, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Ministry of Health, and Civil Defence. We have a full time Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) qualified nurse on site during nursery hours.
Food and Nutrition
Due to the individual health issues of our children at Humpty Dumpty Nurseries, we are a NUT FREE Nursery. Please help keep children safe by not sending your child with any nut products, including peanut butter or nutella.
We support a healthy eating policy that excludes crisps, biscuits, chocolate and fizzy drinks.
Birthdays are a special time in a young child’s life as they gauge their own passage of time and learn tolerance and patience as they count.
‘How many more sleeps till … ?”
We are happy to help accommodate a celebration within the classroom but ask that you contact your child’s class teacher or the Nursery Director one week in advance so that the necessary plans and scheduling can be made. Please note that we only allow cupcakes, party plates and hats and juices. No goodie bags please. Please also note our policy on nuts.
As a responsible and safety conscious nursery, we urge and suggest that all parents, when taking your child to and from the nursery, use age-appropriate car seats and seat belts. Safety is a priority.
Car Park Safety
We ask that at no time you park on the road outside either nursery. There are plenty of spaces available for you to use safely. Please be patient and considerate when arriving and leaving and refrain from using your horn as this can be alarming to a small child in close proximity. Speed should also be kept minimal please.
Accidents and Illness
Occasionally children have accidents while at the nursery. All of the nursery staff are qualified first aiders and each nursery has a fully qualified on-site full-time nurse who is licensed and registered with the Ministry of Health. All accidents are documented and parents need to sign the necessary forms at the end of the day. In the event of your child becoming ill during nursery hours you will be expected to collect your child IMMEDIATELY. Both Nurseries are situated less than 2 minutes from Medical Facilities and for any situations that require urgent medical care your child would be transferred safely with at least two staff members.
We are legally required by the Ministry of Labour and Education to maintain and hold all of the personal information of you and your child that you are required to submit at the time of registration. We disclose personal and sensitive information to our staff for the specific purpose of administration, safety, development and education of your child. At no time will the nursery or any members of our staff disclose any of this privileged information without prior consent of your family.
